Kazakh Olympic Committee president and middleweight great Gennadiy Golovkin (42-2-1, 37 KOs) has been included on the ballot for the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) Class of 2026. Joining him on the list are Vernon Forrest, a two-division world champion, and Steve Collins, the former super middleweight titleholder. The IBHOF is expected to publish the voting results in early December.
Golovkin dominated the middleweight division for nearly a decade, collecting the WBA, WBC, IBF, and IBO titles, stringing together 23 consecutive knockout wins, and setting a division record with 22 title defenses. His trilogy with Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez stands among the defining events of modern boxing and cemented Golovkin’s status as one of the greatest middleweights of his era.
Being named on the ballot puts Golovkin on the doorstep of one of the sport’s highest honors—and, given his résumé, makes him one of the standout candidates for the Class of 2026.
